Frequently Asked Questions • I've been to CAMP before. Is this like CAMP?The focus of CAMP is Community. The focus of Q-Spring is Self. The weekend shares some of the same great attributes of CAMP. It is a safe, accepting, attitude-free environment. Q-Spring is about working on the individual and about exploring and celebrating new ways of thinking about your self as a person. To support that difference the format of the weekend is different. It is shorter and more focused. We believe you will find it fresh yet at the same time familiar. • Where will Q-Spring take place? It is held at a conference center a short ferry ride from Seattle. The center is in a comfortable, charming waterfront setting. • Where will I sleep? The first 36 attendees will be staying at the recently completed retreat center. Three beds are in each room and a full bath is attached to each room. Linen service (bedding and towel) is provided. • Can I bring my tent or RV/camper? No, the property we are staying at is not set up for people to bring or use tents or other camping equipment. • When should I leave Seattle and when will I get home? Registration and check in will begin at 5:30pm on Friday, April 15th. We recommend people leave Seattle mid-afternoon to allow for freeway and ferry traffic. Ferry times and directions will be provided in your welcome packet. Q-Spring will end at 4:30pm on Sunday. In order to create a cohesive communal setting we ask you to arrive on time and commit to stay for the weekend. • How will I get there? You will receive directions in your welcome packet. We encourage people to carpool, as parking spaces are limited. We will make a reasonable attempt to help match riders with rides. • What should I bring?
Essentials: Toiletries (shampoo, soap, tooth brush, tooth paste, deodorant, etc.) Any prescription medications you require Season-appropriate daytime and warm night-time outfits and footwear Optional: A flashlight with a reliable power source Between meal snacks Sun block or sunscreen Insect repellant Fun stuff for day and evening free time (games, cards, Frisbees, telescopes, massage oil, etc.) Please do not bring: Alcohol, illegal substances, fireworks Attitude Dogs or any other pets • Is this therapy? No. While we will do our best to create a supportive and safe environment, the organizers of this event are not mental health professionals - otherwise we would charge you a lot more! • Why is this a drug and alcohol free event? This weekend is focused on connecting with yourself and others and being real. We ask people to respect that by not bringing drugs or alcohol to this event. • Will I have fun? Abso-freakin-lutely! We're fabulous! Expect a healthy balance between introspection and frivolous fun. • I still have more questions! Contact Q-Spring |
